MENDING BROKEN HEARTS

I am Memuna Stevens, a passionate Social Work and Mental Health Counselling Expert.

Memuna Stevens is a passionate Registered Social Worker (RSW) with a Bachelor of Social Work from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University), a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with a Masters of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, Canada, and Founder of Mending Broken Heart International (MBHI).

As a Social Work and Therapy Practitioner, Memuna deploys her expertise to help her clients navigate challenges. She works with clients across different continents, cultures and worldview, age groups and social class; traversing cultures in providing professional services.

Therapy with Memuna is warm, honest and non-judgemental as she supports her clients to look deep within themselves to transform, heal, achieve their goals and realize their full potentials. She collaborates with other therapists, ensures a holistic approach to care, and utilizes up-to-date research and evidence-based techniques in the field. Her commitment to professionalism and integrity is unwavering, as she maintains ethical standards in all aspects of her work during in-person, virtual sessions and community outreach to individuals, families and groups.

Memuna is an advocate for human rights and social justice, a workshop facilitator and a multi-talented professional, with a focus on service to humanity. Her passion for positively impacting lives from a trauma-informed and anti-oppressive lens that includes both lived, and academic experience, with culturally sensitive approaches, made her set up training programmes aimed at supporting and empowering social workers, mental health organizations, and therapist to enhance their techniques and expand their skill-sets through comprehensive, professional and personal development training programmes.

Memuna’s organization, Mending Broken Hearts International (MBHI), combines the provision of exceptional therapy services to clients on one end, and professional development programmes to practitioners and organizations on the other end, who desire to enhance their competency, and expand their Practice, while leading and supporting advocacy, for policy reforms, that promote access to mental health services in society.
